Having a morning plan for your bridal hair and makeup is a must for the easiest, stress free, fun filled morning on what can be for some a stressful occasion. Having a successful morning plan is the foundation for a successful day. Your morning plan sets the tone for the rest of the day. We want to stay on schedule so your ceremony, and photos are also on schedule.

Don’t stress over specific appointment times for bridal party members:

Having your whole bridal party arrive at the same time gives the best, most fun flow to the morning. It’s always best to take whomever is ready to go, otherwise we have the chance of running late if given specific appointment times. Strict rules just don’t work. Everyone’s hair and skin types are different. You may tell your bridal party of a particular order but be fluid to any changes that may occur.

  • Why? For Example: If Jane know’s her appointment time is 1pm for hair, Jane most likely will arrive AT 1pm or later. Jane needs time to settle in, say hi, grab a drink/food, put on the cute bridesmaids robe you gifted her. This all takes time. Let’s say this took her 15 mins. It may only seem like a short about of time but appointments are 45 mins. This gives the artist 30 mins to finish her entire appointment without going over our scheduled time. If this happens to 1-2 appointments it adds up with a potential to be late, or take away from others appointments. We never want to rush anyone!

Do have everyone arrive at once, you can even give your bridal party any gifts, robes, pjs you want them to wear the morning of, the day before or during your rehearsal dinner. That way your girls can arrive already comfy and ready for the morning!

Don’t arrive the same time we do!

This will cause delays. Why? You’ll want to be ready to go as soon as we arrive and set up.

Do arrive 10-15 mins before so you have time to set up your space and not feel rushed, because as soon as we arrive the morning will go by so quickly.

Don’t give your bridal party too much to say

No one wants to be the first appointment. We know, it’s early and you’re worried your hair and makeup won’t look as fresh. Do remind them to not worry, everyone will get a touchup at the end before we leave and you will look just as fresh as the bride does!

Don’t wait to steam your dress

Have your dress steamed before your hair and makeup is finished. Why? This will cause your hair to frizz and you’ll sweat !

Do let anyone who hasn’t had hair or makeup done steam your dress for you!

Doing a first look?

Expect your morning timeline to be pushed up to about 90 mins+. Let’s say your ceremony is scheduled for 4pm. Your photographer may want you and your bridal party ready by 2pm. This will push up your timeline for hair and makeup earlier. Don’t be surprised if we need to start at 6am if you have a large bridal party!

Remember to:

  • Bring a speaker for your music!

  • Wake up early, and prep before hand

  • Have plenty of food and water for you and your crew

  • Don’t over do the drinks!

  • Do give your vendors your MOH’s phone number just incase or give her your phone to take care of any last minute details

  • Delegate any tasks to your bridal party, they are there for a reason!

  • Try to be fully present and take it the beauty of the day.

Peace + Love
